This is a somewhat nostalgic post, but everyone should know of this golfer’s paradise on the Isle of Arran. It may only have twelve holes, and more blind shots than most courses, but it has character in abundance and we love it.

Arran has seven courses in all, but Shiskine, which is located in the little town of Blackwaterfoot on the South West coast, is without doubt the pick of the bunch. The twelve holes total just 3,000 yards with a par of 42. Don’t be fooled though, this is links at its purest, and when the wind blows there are few more enjoyable tests of golf. We urge you to seek this course out and play it at least twice.
